Lucille Jean Lane, 86, of Norborne, MO was called home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 5, 2018.
Lucille was born November 11, 1931 in Hardin, MO to Oscar and Mary (Noelker) Heil. She married Wayne "Ezell" Lane of Norborne on August 12, 1956; he preceded her in death on October 9, 2012.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: daughter Beth Carter and her husband Jeff of St. Louis, MO and their family Ross, Anne (Austin) Caverly and Ellie Lucille, Ruth, and Bruce; son Scott Lane and his wife Candy of Dallas, TX and their family, Erin (Tyler) Oosterhouse, Gavin and Ava; daughter Gaye Carpenter and her husband David of Hardin, MO and their family, Daniel, Mark (Ragen) and Michael; son-in-law David Metz of Springfield, MO and his family, Emma, Audra, Reed and Scott; son Max Lane of Newburyport, MA and his family, Alexis and Hunter; brother-in-law, Bob (Barbara) Lane and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Jill Lane Metz, brother and sister-in-law, Don and Vi Heil, sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Jerry Tiemann, mother-in-law Emma (Hoelscher) Lane and husband Lewis and sister-in-law Rose (Lane) Barker.
Lucille graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S. in Home Economics. She later earned a degree in Elementary Education and after raising her family, became a Parents As Teachers educator.
Lucille was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a baptized and confirmed member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Lucille enjoyed being involved in her church and community where she volunteered for many activities including making Baptismal banners, serving at various church dinners and teaching Sunday School and Weekday School. She was a member of The American Legion and Auxiliary #551 of Norborne, where she served as Girls State chairman for many years. Lucille's most recent opportunity to volunteer was at H.E.L.P. Services in Carrollton, MO. She had many friendships throughout her life, treasuring each one.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Norborne, American Legion and Auxiliary #551 or H.E.L.P. Services in Carrollton.
Visitation for Lucille will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery north of Norborne.
