LUCILLE WIGHTMAN

Lucille Wightman, 89, of Norborne, MO died at 7:55 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Foxwood Springs Care Center in Raymore, MO.
Lucille was born on March 4, 1922 in Searsboro, IA to Fred and Edna (Picken) Kamerer. She married Vern Wightman of Braymer, MO on December 30, 1956; he preceded her in death on September 17, 2008.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Jody Wightman of Grain Valley, MO; two daughters and one son-in-law, Vinita Wightman of Belton, MO and Ann and Jesse Spurgin of Slater, MO; two grandchildren, Samuel Spurgin and Jason Spurgin and his wife, Vicki; two great-grandchildren, Jason Spurgin, Jr., and Soraya Spurgin; and twin sister, Lola Mendell of Kansas City, MO.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Kamerer; and one sister, Ruth Gustafson.
Lucille was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Norborne United Methodist Church. She lived in the Kansas City area and worked for TWA for 11 years before marrying Vern and moving to Carroll County in 1956. She was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Norborne United Methodist Church.


Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norborne United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne. Burial will be in the Fairhaven Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the Pence-Lovell-England V.F.W. Post #1773. Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne is in charge of the arrangements.
