MABEL G. REEVES

Mabel G. Reeves, 92, of Richmond, MO died Tuesday, May 07, 2013 at Shirkey Nursing Home in Richmond, MO.
Mabel was born on April 10, 1921 in Strasburg, ND to Cornilus and Gertrude (Van Schaur) Van Soest. She married Wilbur Lewis Reeves of Stet, MO on July 3, 1939; he preceded her in death on September 25, 2010.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary L. and Gloria Reeves of Kearney, MO and Lowell D. and Emelda Reeves of Dickson, TN; one daughter and son-in-law, Velda and Richard Conard of Kearney, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Nada Van Soest of Logansport, IN; three sisters, Lealla Pulliam of Richmond, MO, Gertrude Little of Monticello, IN and Mildred Taylor of Royal Center, IN; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mabel was preceded in death by a twin brother and sister, who died in infancy; two brothers, Maurice Van Soest and Clarence Van Soest; and four sisters, Jeanetta Baurele, Verna Van Soest, Anna Wilcox and Cornila Van Soest.
Mabel worked at Dunhill shirt factory in Lexington, MO, Hogan's Dairy Queen in Norborne, MO and was an assembly worker for Banquet Foods before retiring in in 1986. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Mabel had lived in the Hardin and Stet areas most of her life
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
