Mae Marie Truesdale, 81, of Richmond, formerly of Riverside, died Friday, January 10, 2020, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Mae was born on June 21, 1938, in Shelton, NE, the daughter of George and Elsie (Ohlman) Ahrens. She was united in marriage to Eli Truesdale of Basehor, KS, on August 5, 1964; he preceded her in death in February 1996.
Survivors include: four daughters: Cheryl (Randall Baugher) Woods of Henrietta, Elisa Crank of Kansas City, Linda Winn of Conway, AR, and Debbie (Mark) Lasker of Conway, AR; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; brother, Roger (Mary Ann) Ahrens of Kearney, NE; sister, Loretta Hadlock of Lee's Summit; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Ahrens of Lincoln, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Benita Egnatic, and two brothers, Lavern Ahrens and Orville Ahrens.
Mae was reared and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Kearney Nebraska High School in 1955. She owned and operated, with her husband, Eli's Family Steakhouse, a well-known restaurant in Riverside, MO, for 37 years. After retiring from the restaurant business, they moved to the Richmond area in 1985 to be closer to family. Mae loved reading, playing bingo, going to garage sales, and crocheting. Mae never forgot a loved one or friends' birthday or anniversary. She was of the Christian faith
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mae Marie Truesdale Memorial Fund. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
Visitation with memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M., with services to follow at 2:00 P.M.
