MARJORIE CORDRAY
Marjorie Cordray passed away peacefully on April 27, 2015 at the Liberty Hospital. After living in Richmond, MO for 57 years, Marjorie resided at Garden Village Retirement Home in Kansas City, MO for the last four years.
Marjorie was born on November 8, 1925 in Sheffield, England to Andrew and Annie May Bell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Cordray. Bernard and Marjorie were married in Sheffield, England on June 14, 1945 just after WWII ended. They were married for 67 years.
Marjorie was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Alan Bell, and one sister, Veronica Waddingham, and one granddaughter, Amy Cordray, of Liberty, MO.
Marjorie is survived by one daughter, Vickie Cordray Green (Jim) of Kansas City, MO; one son, Dennis Cordray, of Liberty, MO; three grandchildren, Kristin Ainsworth Rose, Ryan Ainsworth, and Lindsay Cordray Catron; and four step-grandchildren, Angela Mullikin, Melanie Allwood, Lance Green and Justin Green; four great-grandchildren, Claire Rose, Carter Ainsworth, Adelyn Catron and Cael Catron; twelve step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren. Marjorie is also survived by one sister, Rita Young, and many loving nieces and nephews in the United States and in England.
Marjorie was co-owner of several Firestone Dealerships with her husband, Bernard Cordray. She was a member and an Elder Emeritus of the United Christian Presbyterian Church in Richmond, MO and sang in the choir for over 50 years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Chapter CO of PEO. Singing and dancing was Marjorie's passion, but she was happiest spending time with her family.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Amy Cordray Scholarship Fund payable to Liberty School District Foundation or to the United Christian Presbyterian Church in Richmond, MO.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the United Christian Presbyterian Church in Richmond followed by memorial services at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
