MARJORIE J. ROGERS
Marjorie J. Rogers, 79, of Richmond, MO died at 3:40 p.m. on October 10, 2011 at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO.
Marjorie was born on April 25, 1932 in Lexington, MO to Jewell and Alma (O'Dell) Clevenger. She married William Fenton Rogers of Kidder, MO on December 22, 1950. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2009.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven F. and Susan J. Rogers of Richmond and William Russell and Tracy Rogers of Richmond; one brother and sister-in-law, Elder Kenneth W. and Shirley Clevenger of Macon, MO; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Arthur Holman of San Antonio, TX and Naomi and John Sharr of Clarinda, IA; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Landon and Ashlee Rogers, Lance and Danielle Rogers, Willy Rogers, Freddie Rogers and Rolly Rogers; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Cameron Rogers; and sister-in-law, Josephine Winn of Red Bluff, CA.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by one brother and his wife, Elder Norman L. Clevenger and Donna.
Marjorie was a secretary for several insurance companies for over 20 years in Richmond and Hardin. She was a member of the Old New Garden Primitive Baptist Church. She had lived most of her life in the Richmond area. She was a member of the Allen-Morton-Watkins Chapter of the National Society of the DAR.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Old New Garden Cemetery.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Old New Garden Primitive Baptist Church near Wood Heights, MO. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Old New Garden cemetery.
