Mary Virginia Kemmerer Rust, March 24th 1939 - July 31st 2011

Mary Virginia Kemmerer Rust passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 at her home in Gravois Mills, MO. Mary Virginia was born to Margaret Mae Mansur and Luther Edward Kemmerer of Hardin, MO, where she spent the majority of her life.
Mary Virginia was a member of the United Methodist Church and a graduate of Hardin-Central High School. She later married Edward L. Rust, also of Hardin. She eventually became a judge for the Miss Missouri Pageant at Mexico, Missouri.
Mary Virginia loved to entertain and cook. The culmination of those two loves conceived the establishment of her very own restaurant in Hardin, The Lone Pine Café, named after the third-generation Rust Farm located north of Hardin. This was to be the first of many restaurant ventures for Mary Virginia and Ed L., not only in Hardin, but Henrietta, Lexington and eventually in Laurie, MO, near the Lake of the Ozarks. As time moved on, Mary enjoyed positions as Manager and Head Cook for numerous restaurants at The Lake of the Ozarks.
Mary Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Edward L. Rust and her parent's Luther E. Kemmerer and Margaret Mae Kemmerer.
She is survived by her children, a daughter, Chandra L. Grider of Springfield, MO and a son, Troy L. Rust and his wife Janna, of Leawood, KS. She was also survived by her sister, Karen Sue Provance and her husband Scott, of Fenton, MO; her brother Kevin E. Kemmerer and his wife Susan, of Overland Park, KS; a granddaughter, Jordan Connella, of Springfield, MO; two nieces and a great niece.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hardin Methodist Church, Hardin, MO.

Services are to be held at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO, consisting of a Visitation on Wednesday, August 3, at 7:00 p.m., to be followed by a private graveside service at 10:30 a.m. the following morning at Lavelock Cemetery, north of Hardin, MO on Route A.
