Mary Lillian Kimbrough, 95, of Norborne, died Friday, January 1, 2021, at her home.
Mary was born on October 6, 1925, in Kansas City, the daughter of Harrison Louis and Mary (Albrecht) Farris. She was united in marriage to K.M. Kimbrough of Norborne on March 28, 1951; he preceded her in death on May 22, 2001.
Survivors include: two sons, Harry Louis Kimbrough of Gillette, WY, and James McDowell (Sheri) Kimbrough of Evansville, WY; three daughters: Mary Suzanne Linville of Norborne, Patricia Ann (Bob) Brown of Lake Winnebago, and Joan Marie (Rick) Kahler of Brunswick; 7 grandchildren: Melissa Ann (Tommy) Dempsey, David Bryce (Danika) Linville, William Cole Linville, Tyler James (Heather) Linville, Kathryn Elizabeth Brown, Kelsie Marie Kahler, and William Charles Kahler; and 7 great-grandchildren: Lidia Joy Linville, Clara Jane Linville, Mason Thomas Dempsey, Bentley Cole Dempsey, Harlow Bryce-Marie Dempsey, Trenton Mark Linville, and Josie Lillian-Joyce Linville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Stacey Marie Linville, and Son-In-Law, Mark D. Linville.
Mary was reared and educated in Norborne and graduated from Norborne High School. After high school, she attended St. Mary's College in Leavenworth, KS, where she received her bachelor's degree in Home Economics, with a minor in Chemistry. Before she was married, she worked at the University of Missouri Extension Office. After her marriage, she worked as a substitute teacher for Norborne School District, teaching Home Economics. Mary was a housewife and homemaker, who enjoyed gardening, baking, her family, friends, and her yearly wiener roast for her birthday. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne and a member of St. Anne's Altar Society.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery or St. Anne's Altar Society. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne, with visitation following the rosary, from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne. Father Ken Criqui will officiate. Masks will be required to attend all services. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery, Norborne.
