MARY LOU "TOOTSIE" SILKWOOD
Mary Lou "Tootsie" Silkwood, 78, of Richmond, MO died on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Mary was born on April 3, 1935 in Richmond, Mo to Willie L. and Pearl Lena (Allen) Robertson. She first married Pete Whelchel. She later married Lavell Silkwood. They both preceded her in death.
Survivors include; one grandson, Shane Barker of Camden, MO; 6 great grandchildren; 2 step sons, Leroy and Bobby Silkwood, both of Independence, MO; 3 step daughters, Laurinda Larkin and her husband, Tom of Independence, MO, Charlene Silkwood of Independence and Dottie Silkwood and her companion, Peter of Spiro, OK; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to both of her husbands, Mary was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Iona G. Barker; 2 brothers, Junior Robertson, Allen "Leon" Robertson; and 2 sisters, Marjorie Louise Zentz and Jo Ann Mattice.
Mary was a homemaker. She had worked as a waitress at Mary's Kitchen in Richmond for several years. She was of the Christian faith. She was a lifelong Ray County resident.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shirkey's Hospice.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
