MELODY ROSE GOODWIN

Melody Rose Goodwin, 56, of Blue Springs, MO and formerly of Richmond, MO died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO.
Melody was born on October 2, 1956 in Lexington, MO to Clarence and Crystal (Beasley) Trafton. She married Charles Elwood Goodwin, Jr., of Lawrence, KS on September 19, 1981; he survives of the home.
Survivors include her father, Clarence Trafton of Richmond; one son, Charles E. Goodwin of Blue Springs, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Amee and Roger Lee of Blue Springs; one brother, Jack and Maria Trafton of Philadelphia, PA; and two grandchildren, Kaylyn Rose Lee and Chase Goodwin.
In addition to her mother, Melody was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Trafton.
Melody was a 1975 graduate of Richmond High School where she was active in the drill team, choir and school paper. She was an Executive Assistant working for the Department of Health and Human Services at the Federal Building in Kansas City, MO. She attended William Jewell College. Melody was a member of the Richmond First Baptist Church. She was a soccer and softball mom.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
