Melvin Scott Sanstra, 80, of Kansas City, died Sunday, January 30, 2022, at his son's home.

Melvin was born on April 21, 1941, in Kansas City, the son of Cecil and Katherine Sanstra.  He was first married to Marsha Bottler of Kansas City; they later divorced.  He was then united in marriage to Jean McLallen of Richmond; she preceded him in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Scott (Angela) Sanstra and John McLallen, both of Kansas City; three daughters: Sherri (Kenny) Thomlin of Dalton, GA, Johnah (Dick) Terbovic of North Kansas City, and Paulette (David) Elliott of Kansas City; numerous grandchildren dn great-grandchildren; and sister, Cathy (Bob) Gregory of Liberty.

He was preceded in death by his parents and second wife.

Melvin was reared and educated in the area of his birth and graduated from the Paseo High School in Kansas City.  Melvin worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Fleming Foods out of Kansas City, KS, until he retired.  He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, golfing, and traveling.  He was a fan of Walt Disney and a big Mickey Mouse fan.
