Michael John Breen, Jr., 86, of Richmond, Missouri died Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Ray County Hospital in Richmond.
Michael was born on December 1, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Michael John, Sr. and Georgia Breen. He was united in marriage to Paula Jean Steinmeyer of Normandy, Missouri on January 1, 1956, she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Michael John Breen, III and his wife Suzan of Rayville, Missouri and Steven P. Breen of Richmond; one sister Shirley Achs of St. Louis; three grandsons, Michael John Breen IV, Jackson Steven Breen and Darien Robert Breen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Donna Leigh Breen.
Michael lived most of his life in the St. Louis area. He attended Maryville College in St. Louis, where he received his Associates Art Degree in Criminal Justice. He was a self-employed lady's shoe salesman travelling throughout the Midwest across eight states. He also has worked as a police officer when his kids were young, so he could be close to home. He was an active Mason and had recently received his 60 year pin. While in St. Louis he was a member of the Irwin Masonic Lodge and currently a member of the Richmond Masonic Lodge. He was Shriner and belonged to the Moolah Shrine in St. Louis. He was a member of the Scottish Rite. He enjoyed fishing and travelling. He has lived in the Richmond area for the last several years.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Michael John Breen, Jr. Memorial Fund.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 on p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. when a Masonic Service will be conducted prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
