Micheal Dean McKee 75, a resident of Adelaide, Australia. Passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, surrounded by his Australia family.

Mike was born on November 15, 1950, in Orrick, MO the son of Ivan and Louise (Brinkley) McKee.

Mike was an avid traveler and gold hunter who believed in making the most of every opportunity life had to offer. He had a love for gardening and took great pride in his garden, but perhaps even more than that, he enjoyed sharing his home and his life with others. He loved entertaining friends and creating good memories with the people around him.

Mike was a 1969 graduate of Richmond High School. Following high school, he attended Northwest Missouri State University, where he earned his teaching degree. After college, Mike ventured to Australia, where he taught adults social skills and continued to expand both his education and his life experiences. During his time in Australia, he earned degrees in psychology and speech pathology and also worked as a probation officer.

Mike lived a life filled with curiosity, adventure, learning, and a genuine enjoyment of the world around him. Whether traveling, searching for gold, tending his garden, or simply enjoying the company of friends, he embraced life to the fullest. His adventurous spirit, generous nature, and love of life will be fondly remembered, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mike is survived by three brothers, Kenny (Alida) MeKee, Jack (Linda) McKee, and Shannon McKee; four sisters, Joyce Hackett, Karen Stanton, Cindy (Claude) Vanover, and Judy Simpson. Mike is also survived by special friends, Ian Frazier and Phil Heading.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at the Henrietta Community Center on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Please visit www.thurmanfuneralhome.com to leave memories of Mike for the family.
