Mildred V. "Mille" Evans, 78, of Pilot Grove, Missouri, formally of Richmond, Missouri died Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove.
Millie was born on March 9, 1942, in Ozark, AR, the daughter of Virgil and Katie (Voorhees) Turner. She was first united in marriage to Vernon "Jim" Myers in 1962; to this union, her five children were born; they later divorced; She was then united in marriage to Vaughn H. Evans, Sr. of Richmond, on April 12, 1994; he preceded her in death on December 30, 2016.
Survivors include: son, Jim D. (Alethea) Myers of Prairie Home; three daughters, Sue Ream of Chandler, AZ, Sherri L. (John) Dunseith of Oberlin, LA, and Lori Ann Myers (Lucien Hocking) of Henrietta; 9 grandchildren: Geoffrey Myers, April Myers, Jordan Myers, Kaitlyn Dunseith, Issac Dunseith, Maddie Dunseith, Amber Riley, Hunter Riley, and Dillon Rogers; and many great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, William V. "Billy" Myers, four brothers, Bill L. Turner, John Robert Turner, Roy Arthur Turner, and Charlie L. Turner, and sister, Mary Alice Hickcox.
Millie graduated from Ceres High School in Ceres, CA. She came to Missouri in 1968. Millie worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Richmond, then Ray County Memorial Hospital, until retiring.
In 1995, she was honored with Employee of the Year at the Ray County Memorial Hospital; the first CNA ever to receive this award. Millie was of the Christin faith, loved gardening, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a hardworking, loving woman, who couldn't sit still.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, Mo 64085.
Visitation with funeral services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M., with services to follow at 11:00 A.M.
