MORGAN R. GARNETT

Morgan R. Garnett, 27 of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, MO as a result from a motor vehicle accident.

Morgan was born on July 3, 1987 in Kansas City, MO to Robert W. Garnett and Linda Carol King.

Survivors include his parents, Robert Garnett of Excelsior Springs, MO and Linda C. King of Kansas City, MO; one son, Hunter R. Garnett of Rayville; one daughter, Kailyn Sue Garnett of Rayville, MO; one sister, Whitney Dirck of Carrollton, MO; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Sharon King of Rayville.

Morgan served 9 years as a United States Army Veteran. His tours of duty included; Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait before becoming medically discharged in 2014. Morgan worked as a Jailor for Ray County Sherriff's Department. He was of the Christian faith. He had lived most of his life in the Excelsior Springs area. Morgan loved his family.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hunter and Kailyn Garnett's Education Fund.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Crowley Cemetery near Rayville where military honors will be provided.
