Nina Mae Kincaid, 84, of Richmond and formerly of Excelsior Springs, MO died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Nina was born on March 14, 1934 in Carmine, IL to William Henry and Mary Belle (Briggs) Hinkle.
Survivors include; one son, Leonard S. Storm; one sister, Connie Jo Covert and her husband, Richard of Holt, MO; nephews, Jason and Amy Kincaid, William H. Hinkle, III and Michael Douglas Hinkle; nieces, Amanda Kincaid and Jennifer Lynn Jones; and several great-nephews and great-nieces also survive.
In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by one son, Stacey E. Storm; and one brother, William Henry Hinkle, II.
Nina worked for Gates Rubber Company in Excelsior Springs for many years and retired from there. She lived most of her life in Excelsior Springs before moving to Richmond in 2009. Nina's greatest love was for horses. Nina enjoyed preforming in parades every chance she got. Her sister remembers, "She would seem like one with the horse, she would ride with grace and freedom. She could ride standing up, hanging on the side, and jumping onto the horse's back and up to her feet again. She never failed to put on a great show. "Besides horseback riding, Nina enjoyed reading and cooking. The southwestern states were her favorites. Horses, as you can see by her painting, speak deeply to her love of both freedom and nature. Nina was of the Christian faith.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Nina Mae Kincaid memorial fund.
