NORMA L. (VANDIVER) EDGAR
Norma L. (Vandiver) Edgar, 81, of Richmond, MO, passed away at 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Norma was born on March 9, 1930 in Camden, MO to Neithal C. and Kitty L. (Rimmer) Shelton. She first married Harold J. "Toad" Vandiver on March 9, 1950. They enjoyed 33 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 20, 1983. She then met Frank Stanley Edgar of Ray County, MO and married him on May 26, 1990. They enjoyed 21 years of marriage until her death. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors include; 2 daughters and their spouses, Carolyne and Ernest Conner of Camden, MO. Donna and Bob Fischgrund of Leawood, KS, one stepson, Randall D. Edgar of Lexington, MO, one stepdaughter and her husband, Michelle and Kyle Cameron of El Dorado Springs, MO, 6 grandchildren, Charlotte Conner, Stephanie Conner, Zachary Conner and his wife, Melissa, Avery Fischgrund, Chloe Fischgrund, Thomas Johnson, 4 great-grandchildren, Cole, Zachary, Carmen and Ayden Conner.
In addition to her parents and first husband, Norma was preceded in death by, 4 brothers, Shirley Vance, Bruce, David and Robert Shelton, 2 sisters, Helen Woods and Dorothy Shelton who died in infancy.
Norma was a lifelong member of the Camden United Methodist Church. Norma was very talented with numbers, which led her to work for an accounting firm and an insurance company. In 1986 she was elected to serve Ray County as its Treasurer. She held that office from 1987 until she retired in 1994. She cared deeply for all members of her family, although a special "thanks" must go to Kathy Vandiver for all the care and love given to her Aunt "Pete" throughout her prolonged illness.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Camden United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in South Point Cemetery, near Orrick, MO.
