NORMAN LEE ESTES
Norman Lee Estes, 71, of Richmond, MO died at 6:05 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2011 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Norman was born on March 14, 1940 in Richmond to Clarence and Myrtle Mae (Mellies) Estes.
Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Lee Estes of Richmond; two daughters, Gloria Ellen Cunningham of Richmond and Kristi Louise Hays of Richmond; one brother, Robert Helmes of Richmond; two sisters, Marian Maxine Love of Richmond and Frances See of Kansas City, MO; 5 grandchildren, Nathaniel D. Cooper, Aaron W. Hays, Clayton L. Estes, Gage A. Estes and Hannah Hays.
In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Clarence Estes, Noah Estes, Billy Berry, Wilber Estes and Leslie Berry.
Norman was a tool setter for 17 years at Lake City Arsenal. He was of the Christian faith. He was a lifelong Ray County resident. Norman was an U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Donor's Choice.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 4, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery in Richmond where military honors will be conducted by the Ray County Veterans
