NORMAN EDWARD PUGH

Norman Edward Pugh, 76, of Independence, MO and formerly of Richmond, MO died Thursday, October 08, 2015 at his home.

Norman was born on October 3, 1939 in Henrietta, MO to Sylvester Monroe and Louise (Wallace) Pugh. He married Ruthie Mae Beck of Kansas City, MO on September 20, 1986. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Barbetta and Tim Croft of Raytown, MO and Mashel Miller of Grain Valley, MO; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Wade and Kristi Pugh of Excelsior Springs, MO, Christopher Pugh of Kansas City, MO and Shawn Beck of Kansas City; one sister, Betty Peterson of Kansas City; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by four brothers, E.S. Pugh, Joe Pugh, Maurice Pugh and one brother who died in infancy; and one sister, Frances Matthews.

Norman served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1957, when he was honorable discharged. Norman worked at Lake City Arsenal as a heavy equipment operator for over 35 years. He was of the Christian faith. Norman lived most of his life in Henrietta before moving to Independence in 1982

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Friday, October 16, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery in Richmond where military honors will be provided by the Ray County Veterans.
