NORMAN EUGENE SMITHEY
Norman Eugene Smithey, 83, of Camden, MO died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, MO.
Norman was born on November 23, 1929 in Camden to Vernon F. and Cornelia (Crowley) Smithey. He married Margaret Louise Trindle of Richmond on November 27, 1949; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Vernon E. and Melinda Smithey of Camden; one daughter-in-law, Linda Smithey of Fleming, MO; one grandson, Jared Smithey of Camden; and one granddaughter, Kelsie Ross of Fleming.
In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by one son, Tim L. Smithey; and one grandson, Wesley Smithey.
Norman was a 1947 graduate from Camden High School. Norman was a member of the United Brotherhood of Union Carpenters Local #315 for over 40 years. He was also a farmer. Norman was a lifelong resident of Camden and a member of the Camden United Methodist Church. He was a lifelong Camden residence. Norman was a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the Ray Lodge #223 A.F. & A.M. He was a past President of the Richmond Shrine Club and a member of the Ararat Temple.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Camden Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Friday, November 30 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with masonic services at 1:45 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home.
