Survivors include: two sons, Jeff (Amy) Wirsig of Richmond and Kenny (Christal) Wirsig of Odessa; two daughters, Cheryl (Jeff) Arbogast of Richmond and Sherri (Mike) Farmer of Clinton; 10 grandchildren: Justin (Kayla) Wirsig, Ashley Wirsig, Makayla Wirsig, Lindsey Arbogast, Brandon Arbogast, Kasi (Josh) Goth, Ava Wirsig, Lily Wirsig, Linkin Wirsig, and Clayton Farmer; three great-grandchildren: Carsin Wirsig, Raife Beardshear, and Ellie Goth; two brothers, Richard (Charlene) Wirsig of Clinton and Kenneth Wirsig of Urich; and three sisters: Carolyn Bodenhamer of Lee's Summit, Sharon Wirsig and Linda Wirsig both of Overland Park, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and three brothers, Donald Wirsig, Marvin Wirsig, and Melvin Wirsig.

After graduating from high school, Norman was first in the National Guard and then worked for Lake City.  He worked for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years as a forklift driver.  He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local #249.  Norman also worked as a farmer on his farm north of town.  He was a bit of a Renaissance man, problem solver, and could fix anything; Norman even built his own home.  He was a collector and liked to tinker with things.  Norman loved sitting at his shop on nice days, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
