OPAL MCGINNIS

Opal McGinnis, 101, of Excelsior Springs, MO died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Valley Manor Rehabilitation Center in Excelsior Springs.
Opal was born on June 3, 1912 in rural Ray County, MO, to Harry and Anna (Brizendine) Lake. She married Jewell E. McGinnis of Ray County, MO on April 12, 1937; he preceded her in death on March 5, 1973.
Opal is survived by several cousins and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Gladys Cain.
Opal was a homemaker. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She loved traveling and working on the farm with her husband, Jewell. She had lived most of her life in the Excelsior Springs area.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Sunny Slope Cemetery in Richmond, MO. On line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
