PATSY KAY (HAPPY) O'Dell

Patsy Kay (Happy) O'Dell, 75, of Richmond, Missouri, died Monday, February 12 at Ray County Memorial Hospital with her daughter Gina by her side.

Patsy was born December 23, 1942 to Lowell P. and Ruth (McGaugh) Happy in Noel, Missouri. Patsy was united in Marriage to Jackie "Jack" O'Dell, Sr. of Richmond, Missouri on July 6, 1974. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2017.

Moving to Camden, Missouri with her family, Patsy attended school in Camden and graduated from Orrick, Missouri. She was a member of the Camden United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She was the bookkeeper for the family business, Machine Supply Company, until retiring with Jack in 1990. Patsy's greatest joys in life were doting on her husband, spoiling her family, and spending time with friends. She and Jack enjoyed traveling after retirement and she especially cherished the summers fishing in Minnesota when family and friends came to stay. Patsy enjoyed vegetable gardening, reading, crosswords, and game shows.

In addition to her husband, Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, son Darren O'Dell, and brothers Paul Happy, Gene Happy, and Jim Happy.

Survivors include daughter Gina Waller and husband Jim of Liberty, Missouri; son William O'Dell and wife Sama, daughter Ramona Riggert and husband Ray, son Jack O'Dell Jr. and wife Shirley, all of Richmond, Missouri. Ten grandchildren, Brandon and Lauren Waller (Bryant Ash); Aaron (Brooke), Derek (Amanda), and Skylar (Jessica) O'Dell; David Wood; Jon and Jackson Riggert; Kendra and Kenzie O'Dell. Seven great-grandchildren, Scarlett O'Dell; Ethan Carney; Conner, Clayton and Carsyn Teat; Dusti and Ava O'Dell. Sisters-in-law Jane Happy and June (Carmichael) Sharp and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, Missouri. The visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
