PAULINE PHILLIPS

Pauline Phillips, 96, of Richmond, Mo passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at her home.

Pauline was born on July 29, 1918 in Osborn, Mo. to Manfred and Ella (German) Richardson. She was the 9 th of 10 children. She married George D. Phillips on February 2, 1941. They just celebrated their 74 th wedding anniversary. George survives of the home.

Additional survivors include; 8 nephews, Jack, Jim, Milton, John and Dan Richardson, Dean and Gene Teaney and Bob Howard.Three nieces, Maryanne Lanzarotta, Nancy Ver Hagen and Beverly Massay. Eight great nephews, 5 great nieces and many, many friends also survive.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by 1 son, Richard Phillips, who died in an automobile accident on December 14, 1970 at the age of 20, while attending college. Also, preceding her in death were five brothers, Leslie, Jack, Everett, Volley "Bud' and Dale Richardson, four sisters, Merna Ecton, Cleta Nelson, Sara Teaney and Ann Howard.

After their marriage, the young couple started off farming in the Holt, Mo area. They established a dairy operation and picked up farm produce from nearby farms, which they then sold at the Kansas City Farmer's Market. Afterwards, George worked for Farmland Industries and the Ray-Carroll Grain Growers Association, where Pauline worked as a secretary. Next, they developed 2 real estate subdivisions and then worked as a contract home builder. Finally, Pauline and George owned and operated a home rental property business.

Although Pauline and George were always busy, hard workers, they took time to relax, refresh and enjoy quality time as a loving couple. They traveled extensively, including all of the states in our country, including Alaska and Hawaii. Even Mexico and Canada were included in their travels.

Pauline was and will be remembered as the most sweet, loving and fun person. She was a long time sister of the Missouri Beta Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

She was a member of the Richmond First Baptist Church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
