Peggy Sue Strickler, 62, of Excelsior Springs, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 26, 2026, at her home.
Peggy was born on August 1, 1963, in Cameron, the daughter of Rex Lloyd and Linda (Stewart) Allen. Peggy was united in marriage to Kelly Strickler from Excelsior Springs to this union her two daughters were born Kelsey and Lacey, although they later divorced, they remained close.
Survivors include: her mother, Linda Allen of Elmira; her significant other, Mark Minnick of the home; son, Justin Andersen of Richmond; two daughters, Kelsey Strickler of Excelsior Springs and Lacey Olson of Braymer; three grandchildren: Angel Dawson, Elijah and Ezra Hartinger; brother, Randy Allen of Elmira; and two sisters, Cindy Bartholomew of Excelsior Springs and Wanda Allen of Kansas City.

Peggy was raised and went to school in Lawson, graduating from Lawson High School in 1981.
She spent her final working years as a drug treatment counselor, helping folks through some of the hardest times in their lives with care and understanding. She also loved working for Crowley Furniture and being with the public and never met a stranger. She worked various jobs over the years that dealt with the public and made many friends through her co-workers and the people she dealt with.
In her free time, Peggy enjoyed the things that made her happy. She loved being out on the water fishing and was proud of catching a record-breaking 3-pound crappie. She also had a love for horses and the quiet moments they brought.
More than anything, Peggy loved her family and cherished the time she got to spend with them. She was a good, loyal friend—someone you could count on no matter what—and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
An important part of Peggy's life were the beliefs she held and her faith in God. She remained a member of Elmira Baptist Church throughout her entire lifetime.
