Obituary

Penny Lou (Lund) Kennedy of Rayville, Mo passed away on October 21st, 2026. Penny was born in Hamilton, Missouri. She graduated from Penney High School with the Class of 1971.

Penny was a vibrant woman with a zest for life and a love for having a good time. She enjoyed life’s moments, big and small, and brought a special energy to those around her. Above all else, Penny loved her family, and she never missed an opportunity to show it.

She especially loved spoiling her son and grandchildren, something she accomplished in countless ways. Whether it was preparing a delicious home-cooked meal, making sure everyone had more than enough, or simply being there when someone needed her, Penny had a way of making the people she loved feel special. Her cooking was more than just food; it was one of the many ways she expressed her love. The meals she prepared, the laughter she shared, and the time she spent with her family will remain cherished memories for years to come.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Lorene Lund; her brothers, Deb Lund, Jim Lund, and Jack Lund; and her sisters, Loretta Lund and Nancy Lund.

Penny is survived by her husband, Reyburn Kennedy; her son, Victor Everett, and his wife, Christen; her stepchildren, Chris Kennedy, Nick Kennedy, and Chanci Kennedy; and her seven beloved grandchildren, Amaya Kennedy, Llani Kennedy, Eliott Everett, Gabe Everett, Jaxson Brooner, Kennedy Brooner, and Madisyn Brooner.

She also leaves behind her brother, Bob Lund, and his wife, Susie; her sisters-in-law, Brenda Lund, Karen Lund, and Barbara Lund; along with many nieces and nephews.

Penny will be remembered for her lively spirit, her generous heart, and the love she so freely gave to her family. While her presence will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those who knew her.
