PHILLIP "PHIL" REA STEVENSON

Phillip "Phil" Rea Stevenson, 69, of Richmond, MO died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at his home.

Phil was born on May 23, 1945 in Excelsior Springs, MO to James and Leotta (Bosley) Stevenson. He married Betty B. Earles of Kansas City, MO on August 31, 1996. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include one son, Sean Stevenson of Liberty, MO; two brothers and one sister-in-law, James Stevenson of Holden, MO and John and Alice Stevenson of Excelsior Springs, MO; two sisters, Linda Stevenson of Excelsior Springs and Anita Holtzclaw of Excelsior Springs; one granddaughter; two step-sons, Randy Claycomb of Polo, MO and Chris Claycomb of Turney, MO; one step-daughter, Carol Liberty of Odessa, MO; 7 step-grandchildren; and 8 step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Phil was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Phil was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Maintenance Supervisor for Owen Illinois Plastics in North Kansas City, MO for 39 years before retiring in 2005. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #4398 and was a member of the American Legion Post #237 in Richmond. He was of the Christian faith. Phil loved to do wood working.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Memorial graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. On line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
