Phyllis Jean (Mohn) Webb, age 92, a former Norborne, Missouri, resident passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Lakeside Meadows in Osage Beach, Missouri, near her son and his wife, Randy and Teri Webb.
She was born near Norborne, Missouri, on September 14, 1927, the daughter of Fred Lee and Effie Grace (Stratton) Mohn.
At age 6, she moved with her parents into Norborne, Missouri, and resided there until 2002, when she and her husband moved to Trenton, Missouri, because of his failing health and to be near family.
Phyllis attended school in Norborne and graduated there in 1945, with honors.
During high school, she worked part time at Steele's Restaurant, cleaned three houses, babysat, and was a clerk at Rengelman's Produce on Saturdays.
After graduation, she worked as a dental assistant to D.E. Quaintance. Later, she was an employee at the International Shoe Company in Carrollton, Missouri. For nine years, she worked at Lake City Arsenal near Buckner, Missouri.
On September 14, 1952, she and Richard Lynden Webb were married; he preceded her in death on Novmeber 24, 2008.
At age 10, Phyllis was baptized into the Norborne Methodist Church. Later, she taught Sunday school and Bible School, served on the Board of Trustees, and from 1993 to 2003 was Church Treasurer.
She and Lynden delivered meals with Meals on Wheels, served as a judge of Elections in Norborne.
In Trenton, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She and Lynden drove nine miles to Liberty Chapel Christian Church, where they made new friends.
In Norborne, Phyllis was a member of Chapter EU of P.E.O. in Trenton Chapter CS of P.E.O. Phyllis and Lynden bowled and golfed for over 40 years and traveled to tournaments.
Phyllis was a loving wife and mother, kept busy sewing, crocheting, gardening, and flowers, caring for family members who were ill, and visiting with friends.
Not able to live alone and care for her home, she moved to Assisted Living at Lakeside Meadows on May 2, 2016. It was good to be near her son and his wife, Randy and Teri Webb.
She was preceded in death by Lynden Webb, husband, parents, infant brother and sister, brothers and sisters-in-law, George Webb, Dorothy Webb Newham (Harold), Guy Webb, Jr. (Gladys), niece Kay Newham, and Polly, her loving dog.
Surviving: son and his wife, Randy and Teri Webb; 5 step-grandchildren: Jennifer (Nile) Thudium, Erin (Brad) Korman, Jonathan (fiancée, Shianne Rice) Swift, Alexandra (Danny) Bartlett, and Katherine (significant other, Sam Ludwig) Swift; 8 step-great-grandchildren: Mason Swift, Breckin Thudium Piper Thudium, Kingston Thudium, Sydney Korman, Braden Korman, Hiram Bartlett, and Georgia Korman; 3 cousins; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
For those who would like to make a memorial contribution, the family respectfully requests they be made to the Norborne United Methodist Church.
Visitation with funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at the United Methodist Church in Norborne, with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M., with services to follow at 11:00 A.M.
