PORTER KEITH HARDIN

Passed on to greater glory on February 2, 2011, was born, Porter Keith, to Porter M. and Maude (King) Hardin on September 26, 1928 in Camden, MO, grew up and graduated from high school there. He married Emma Lou Stonner of Camden, MO, on November 10, 1948 and raised three children in Camden, Mo and later in Richmond. He worked thirty-four years at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant near Buckner, Mo in the water and waste water treatment department. Later, he also served the cities of Henrietta and Orrick, MO in a similar capacity.
Keith is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Emma Lou Hardin of the home, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ross and Christine Annette Hardin of Plano, TX, David Hardin and his significant other, Margaret Webb of Chicago, IL, one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Christopher B. Oyler of Richmond, MO, six grandchildren, Gregory Hardin, Leslie and her husband, Zac Crickenberger, Christopher Keith and his wife, Allison Oyler, Misty Hardin, Michelle Oyler, Katelyn Oyler, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Marion Hardin, Austin Kincaid Hardin and one sister, Norma Hardin.
During Keith's life, he served on the Richmond Parks Board, Ray County HUD Board and coached Little League Baseball. In his retirement, he served mostly in volunteer capacities on the Ray County Fellowship Board, the Representative for the Ray County Silver Hair Legislature with the Mid-America Regional Council, the Missouri Governor's Council on Aging, the Ray County Transportation Board, the Camden United Methodist Church Board, the Cravens Cemetery Board and numerous other civic agencies and groups. He was a member of the Richmond Kiwanis Club. He had lived in Camden, before moving to Richmond in 1955.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ray County Silver Hair Legislature c/o the Mid-America Regional Council.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Camden United Methodist Church. There will be no visitation, although Keith will lie in state from noon to 1:30 at the Church on Saturday. Burial will be in the Cravens Cemetery near Camden, MO.
