R. WATSON SHERMAN

R. Watson Sherman, 90, died at 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Watson was born on July 2, 1921 in Richmond, MO to Ray and Bessie (Watson) Sherman. He married Irene Reberry of Richmond on September 6, 1958; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Ann R. Sherman of Richmond and Jetta Jane Lentz and her husband, Alan of Springfield, MO; and 2 grandchildren, Addison Lentz and Emerson Lentz.
In addition to his parents, Watson was preceded in death by his brother, James H. Sherman.
Watson was a lifelong farmer. He was of the Christian faith. He had lived in the Richmond area all of his life. He was a 1939 graduate of the Henrietta High School. He was a past president of the Richmond Rural Fire District. He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Camden United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery in Richmond. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
