RAY OLLISON CHASTAIN

Ray Ollison Chastain, 70, Polo, MO, died at 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at his home in Polo, MO.
Ray was born on December 6, 1940 in Holly Grove, AR to Thomas and Clyde (Ollison) Chastain. He married Alice Marie Lefler of Waverly, NE on May 18, 1963. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include; four sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin Wayne and Diana Chastain of Oak Harbor, WA, Kenny Scott and Michelle Chastain of Polo, MO, Michael Kyle and Julie Chastain of Chillicothe, MO, Kurtis Ray and Tammy Chastain of Cameron, MO. Two brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas C. and Barbara Chastain of Parkville, MO, Michael R. and Patricia Chastain of Holly Grove, AR, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Ann Miller of West Memphis, AR, Mazie Grace and Clyde Parker of Ash Down, AR. Thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by a brother, Boyce Chastain, who died in infancy.
Ray had been a member of the Polo First Baptist Church since 1973. He taught the Senior Adult Sunday School Class for the past 25 years. He was a Deacon since 1975. He was a Lead Man for General Motors in Kansas City for 31 years, before he retired in 1993. He was a cattle farmer. He formerly owned and operated the Red Rooster Café in Polo, MO for 13 years. He had lived in the Polo, MO area most of his life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Polo First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Polo First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Prairie Ridge Cemetery, west of Polo, MO.
