RAYMOND ISAAC FIFER

Raymond Isaac Fifer, 96, of Richmond, MO died Friday, June 10, 2016 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Raymond was born on November 9, 1919 in Hardin, MO to Irvin and Ada (Brock) Fifer. He married Velma Mae Horine of Norborne, MO on June 22, 1941. She preceded him in death on August 25, 1993.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Donald and Carolyn Fifer of Kingsville, MO and Charles Fifer of Odessa, MO; two daughters and one son-in-law, Nancy Beard of Gladstone, MO and Jo Ann and John Strong of Lenexa, KS; three grandchildren, Tonya (Jason) Preston, Chris (Kacey) Freund and Jossalyn Fifer; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Raymond was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Fifer; and two sisters, Mabel Lee Fifer, who died in infancy, Frances Bowman, a granddaughter, Angela Cameron; and a son-in-law, Ray Beard.

Raymond was a truck driver, delivering local farmer's live stock to various auction facilities. He was a farmer and he also did custom hay baling. He was a member of the Rockingham Church of the Brethren. Raymond lived in the Rockingham area most of his life. Raymond loved his family and he will be dearly missed.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Wakenda Cemetery or to the Donor's Choice.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Wakenda Cemetery north of Hardin, MO.
