RAYMOND EUGENE THOMAS

Raymond Eugene Thomas, 90, of Excelsior Springs, Mo, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, Mo.

Gene was born on May 8, 1925 in Clay County, Mo to Frank and Grace (Robeson) Thomas. He married Irma M. Hannah of Liberty, Mo on March 1, 1943. She preceded him in death on March 26, 2013.

Survivors include; 5 daughters and 4 sons-in-law, Lynda and Don Scott of Richmond, Mo, Diane and Steve Sharp of Kansas City, Mo, Cheryl and Steve Sinclair of Coweta, Ok, Kathi Harris of Liberty, Mo, Kelly and Gene Hay of Clinton, Mo, a ½ sister, Debbie Thomas of Anderson, Mo, thirteen grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Gene was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Clarence and Claude Thomas, a sister, Jeanette Thomas and a ½ sister, Shirley Crawford.

Gene was a foreman for Ford Motor Company for thirty-two years before retiring in 1982. He was a United States Army veteran of WW II. He had lived most of his life in the Ray and Clay County areas.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rayville Christian Union Church.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rayville Christian Union Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial with military honors will be in Mt.
