REBECCA KATHRAN (ROBERTS) ALLEN

Rebecca Kathran (Roberts) Allen was born on October 31, 1920 to William Thurston Roberts, and Jeanetta Mellie Ann (Mullins) Roberts. She died November 24, 2015.

Rebecca Kathran (Kay) was preceded in death by her parents, Thurston and Mellie, her husband J.D. Allen and all of her siblings, Charles Martin Roberts, William Cecil Roberts, Pearly Clara Bell Roberts, Calvin Woodrow Roberts, Jimmie J. Roberts, Cora Mae Lou Roberts, and Joseph Edward Roberts, Also Sons, Marty Lee Jeffries and Gary Gene Foots.

Kay is survived by three children: Marilyn Kathran Jeffries and spouse Neil Hall, Kenneth Allen Jeffries and spouse Beata, William Wayne Jeffries and spouse Phyllis and Ms. Gary Foote. Sixteen grandchildren and twenty nine great-grandchildren.

I paraphrase Mark Twain after he was told of the sudden loss of a loved one.

It is one of the mysteries of our nature that a man, all unprepared, can receive a thunder stroke like that, the one I have just experienced, and live. There is but one reasonable explanation of it. The intellect is stunned by the shock, and only gropingly gathers the meaning of the words. The power to realize their full importance is mercifully wanting. At the time the mind has only a dumb sense of vast loss. It will take the mind, and memory months and possibly years to gather together the details, and thus learn, and understand, the whole extent of that terrible loss.

To the vast number of people that Kate had touched in her long life time, she would wish you well, and have the hope that understanding, and acceptance of her death come soon to you.

As to Rebecca's wishes there will be no services at this time. Inurnment will be at a later date by the family.
