REBECCA LYNN CONVERSE STEVENS

Rebecca Lynn Converse Stevens was born on September 30, 1961, the youngest child of Ronald and Patricia Converse. She joined a sister, Deborah, and a brother, Gary, making the family complete.

Rebecca attended the James and Harrison Elementary Schools in Kansas City, Missouri graduating from Northeast High School with the class of 1979. Rebecca grew up attending the Independence Boulevard Christian Church, she was baptized and later served as a Junior Deacon. Rebecca was employed in the cafeterias at James and Gladstone Elementary Schools and also a stocker at Wal-Mart.

In 1984, Rebecca and Joe Allen Stevens were married, to this union two sons were born: Joe Allen Stevens III and Cody Rex Stevens. Rebecca's boys were the lights of her life. Rebecca enjoyed attending flea markets, garage sales, and visits to the family farm. As Rebecca's Progressive Multiple Sclerosis worsened, she and Cody moved to Richmond to be closer to her family. After a valiant fight, she passed away at Shirkey Leisure Acres Rehabilitation Facility on May 13, 2016. Many thanks to the staff at Shirkey's for their love, respect, and care.

Rebecca was predeceased by her father, Ronald Converse. Her survivors include: her mother, Patricia Converse; her sons, Joe (Aimee) and Cody Stevens; her brother, Gary Converse Sr. (Marla) sister, Deborah Lupardus; her grandchildren, Tateum, Jaxon, Raiden, and Adalyn; nephews, Adam Lupardus (Petr), Eric Lupardus (Kim), Gary Converse II (Kadi); niece, Audrey Kay Converse McDowell (Jake); several great-nieces, great nephews, and a great-great-nephew.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the church.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Christian Presbyterian Church, 501 Spartan Drive, Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Friday, May 20, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. A private inurnment will be at a later date.
