REX ALLEN TAYLOR
Rex Allen Taylor, 69, of Richmond, MO died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, MO.
Rex was born on October 22, 1947 in Jameson, MO to Ray and Elva (Elder) Taylor. He married Betty Schmitz of Richmond on January 31, 1970.
Survivors include; his wife Betty of Kearney, MO; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Brian and Christina Taylor of Atchison, KS, Darren Taylor of Richmond and Jamie Taylor and Tammy Goode of Richmond; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Galan Haddock of Kearney, MO; and four grandchildren, Jeffery Antill, Jr., Dalton Taylor, Auston Taylor and Xandyn Allen Taylor.
In addition to his parents, Rex was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Taylor and Bill Taylor; and three sisters, Dixie Runyan, Betty Rouner and Mary Shipley.
Rex was born and raised in Jameson and moved to Richmond after his marriage. Rex was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at Ford Motor Company in Kansas City, MO for 30 years retiring in 2001. He was a member of the U.A.W. Union Local #249. He was a member of the Richmond Masonic Lodge #57 A.F. & A.M. He was a member of the Richmond Shrine Club and the Ararat Shrine in Kansas City, MO. Rex had also served on the Richmond School Board and had been a little league baseball coach.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shriner's Hospital's for children.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. with military honors provided by the Ray County Veterans at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7:45 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be in the Brown Cemetery in Gallatin, MO at a later date. On line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
