RICHARD ALLEN ?RICK? NORRIS

Richard Allen ?Rick? Norris, 64, of Richmond, MO passed away quickly due to complications from lung cancer on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at his home.
Rick was born on June 22, 1950 in Leavenworth, KS to J.C. and Margaret (Hessenflow) Norris. He married Alberta Roberta Frakes of Independence, MO on August 15, 1987; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Richard Allen II and Kim Norris of Savannah, MO; two daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Richard Ruth of Savannah, MO and Denelda ( Tilly) and John Woods of Vinita, OK; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Cheryl Norris of Liberty, MO, Ronnie and Kathleen Norris of Kansas City, MO, Jack Norris of Shawnee Mission, KS and Steve Norris and his significant other, Rebecca Wall of Grandview, MO; two sisters and brother-in-law, Jeannie Winders of Kansas City, MO and Susan and Jarrett Barron of Chillicothe, MO; and 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Kelsey, Andrew, Haley, Zoe and Caylee and another one due in March of 2015; and 2 great-grandchildren, Harper and Bentley.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by one daughter, Shaunna Lyn; and one granddaughter, Emily Roberta Norris-Woods.
Rick worked for an asphalt company for 20 years. He also worked as a service man for TCI before retiring in 2000. He was of the Baptist faith. He had lived in Kansas City, MO before moving to Richmond 4 years ago. Rick was a loving husband, father, brother, poppy and great- grandpa.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the American Lung Association or to Thurman Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home.
