RICHARD D."COWBOY" MANSUR
Richard D. "Cowboy" Mansur, 70, of Independence, MO, died on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Richard was born on December 1, 1942 in Carroll County, MO to George Kenneth and Mary Frances (Summers) Mansur. He married Patricia J. Atchison of Osage, KS on May 26, 1962; she preceded him in death on October 6, 1998.
Survivors include; 2 daughters, Teresa Barahona Baustista and her husband, Franklin of Hamilton, MO and JoAnna Morris of Independence, MO; 4 grandchildren, Jason Dennis and his wife, Brandie, Amanda Nightingale and her husband, Justin, Kristen Morris and Michelle Morris; and 5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Eugene Mansur.
Richard worked at the General Motors Leeds Plant for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the U.A.W. local #93. He was owner and operator of the Hamilton Bar and Grill. He lived most of his life in Independence, MO.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery, north of Hardin, MO.
