Robert LeRoy "Bob" Nichols, 79, of Richmond, died Friday, October 16, 2020 at the home.

Bob was born on December 3, 1940 in Chamois, MO, the son of Hershel F. Nichols and Clara Augusta (Boss) Nichols.  He was united in marriage to Marilyn Sue Blankenship of Hardin, MO, on November 27, 1970. She survives the home.

Survivors include: a daughter, Kristina (Jeff) Rechtermann of Hardin, MO and a son, Kevin (Amanda) Nichols of Richmond, MO; 3 grandchildren, Austin Rechtermann, Alyssa Rechtermann and Taylee Nichols and 2 step-grandchildren Tatum McGlothlin and Taylor McGlothlin; 2 brothers, Donnie (Linda) Nichols of Richmond, MO and Cecil Nichols of Liberty, MO and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob moved from Chamois, MO to Camden, MO in 1958 and graduated from Richmond High School in 1959.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond.  Bob retired from MoDOT in Richmond in 2003 after working 30 years.  Bob enjoyed going to auctions, garage sales, shopping for his wife and plowing gardens for people around town.  He never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with the local merchants.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, with visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. and funeral at 11:00 A.M. at Thurman Funeral Home of Richmond.
