Robert Edward Jordan, D.C. 79, of Richmond, MO, died Saturday, June 2, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Dr. Jordan was born on April 22, 1939 in Kansas City, MO the son of Charles Edward and Flora Margaret (Davidson) Jordan. He married Judith Lea Rogers of Kansas City, MO on November 22, 1958. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include; four children, Kathryn Lynn Jordan (Stewart Howden) of Morgantown, PA; Lisa Ann Cole (Donald) of Kansas City, MO; Jeffrey Edward Jordan (Jennifer) of Bradenton, FL; and Malinda Gayle Jordan (Oli Rodriguez) of Holt, MO; brother-in-law, William Rogers of Sugar Creek, MO; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sara and Stephen Evans of Beaver Lake, AR; 13 grandchildren and their spouses, Kyle Poe, Garrett Poe, Alexis Spain (Michael), Marshall Howden, Madison Howden, Emily Brooks (Patrick), David Cole (Colleen), Jordan Cole, Sean Jordan (Sarah), Bryan Jordan, Taylor Edgar (Loren), Megan Young and Peyton Young; and 5 great-grandchildren, Logan Spain, Eleanor Brooks, William Brooks, Henry Brooks, Christine Brooks and Breckham Gabbert.
In addition to his parents, Dr. Jordan was preceded in death by one brother, Keith Eugene Jordan; and one granddaughter, Ashley Marie Poe.
Dr. Jordan graduated in 1960 from the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, MO. In 1963 he moved to Richmond and opened Jordan Chiropractic office - serving the community for 50 years before retirement. Dr. Jordan was a well-respected and active community member. Some of his memberships included; Richmond First Baptist Church, Jaycees, Rotary and Masonic Lodge #57. Dr. Jordan was appointed by the Governor to serve as the Ray County Coroner in 1964 where he served for 9 years. He was also a Shriner of the Scottishrite and a Jester. He was a supporter of the Chiropractic Community, an alumni supporter of his college and a member of the Knights of the Chiropractic Round Table.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic service at 5:45 p.m. at the Richmond First Baptist Church. Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Richmond First Baptist Church. Inurnment will be in the Sunny Slope Cemetery in Richmond.
