ROBERT D. RICE

Robert D. Rice, 85, of Richmond, MO passed away peacefully on Monday, September 18, 2017 surrounded by family at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Robert was born on June 24, 1932 in Useful, MO to Alonzo and Edna (Owens) Rice. He married Pat R. Lock of Chamois, MO on July 3, 1954. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Gloria Rice of Lenexa, KS; two daughters and one son-in-law, Peggy and Dale Hankins of Rayville, MO and Sandra Wood of Richmond; 6 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Roberta Lefever; four brothers; and two sisters.

Robert served 3 ½ years in the Navy during the Korean War. He was employed in Kansas City with Russell Stover Candies for 20 years before moving to Jefferson City where he was employed by the Missouri Department of Revenue for 12 years. Robert retired in 2000 and moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, with his wife, Pat where he spent most of his time on the golf course. They then moved to Richmond, MO in 2007.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
