ROGER LEE HORINE

Roger Lee Horine, 82, of Carrollton, MO, and formerly of the Norborne, MO area, died at 12:25 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2009 at his home in Carrollton.
Roger was born on March 3, 1927 in Norborne, MO to Raymond and Nellie (Heiney) Horine. He first married Willa Mae Stroud of Norborne, MO on March 12, 1953. She preceded him in death on May 20, 1971. He later married Norma Kruse of Carrollton, MO on January 2, 1976. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include his children, Debra Mason and husband Gerald of Stet, MO, Sandra Daniels and her husband, George of Tulsa, OK, Brad Horine of Norborne, MO, Randy Horine and his wife, Janet of Norborne, MO and Dennis Horine of Linn Creek, MO. Six grandchildren also survive; Stacey Burgess, Cole Mason, Cameron and Brandon Horine, Tammy Keepers and James Daniels, six great grandchildren; Conor and Willa Burgess, Emma and Abigail Keepers, Alexander and Madalyn Daniels, along with four step-children, Larry Kruse and his wife, Patti of Norborne, MO, Sheryl Kruse and her fiancé, Larry Gray of Carrollton, MO, Sandra Famuliner and her husband, Jim of Wakenda, MO, Rhonda Green and her husband, Tad of Wooldridge, MO, nine step-grandchildren; Danielle Pruitt, Becky Appelbaum, Christine and Orion Warren, Katherine, John and Mark Famuliner, Ty and Tara Green, six great step-grandchildren,; Danica, Sean and Tristen Pruitt, Grace and Joseph Appelbaum and Brianna Davis.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Roger was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Horine and one sister, Velma Fifer.
Roger was a 1945 graduate of Central High School. He was a lifelong farmer in the Norborne area, raising livestock and row crops. He served on the Board of Directors of Ray-Carroll County Grain Growers for twenty-four years. He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne. He had lived in the Norborne, MO area most of his life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either H.E.L.P. Services Cancer Fund in Carrollton, MO or to the family's choice.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery in Norborne, MO.
