ROGER DANIEL McBEE

Roger Daniel McBee, 91, of Richmond, MO, died at 6:45 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2009, at his home.
Mr. McBee was born October 1, 1917 in Braymer, MO to Moses David and Lu (Severns) McBee. He married Virginia King of Camden, MO, on August 23, 1942; she preceded him in death February 6, 2000.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Rilla and Bob Simmons of Richmond; one brother, Billy McBee of Truth or Consequences, NM; one sister, Frances Thompson of Canyon City, CO; and two grandsons and their families, Dan and Lori Simmons and their children, Kayla and Dalton, and David and Tammy Simmons and their children, Kristen, Kelsea, Lauren and Jillian.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two sons, Harlan McBee and Kelly McBee, who died in infancy; three brothers, J.W. McBee, Lee McBee and M.D. McBee; and three sisters, Mary Spitzer, Eva McKnight and Mildred "Toots" Mills.
Mr. McBee was a farmer for over 50 years before retiring in 1966. He had lived in Colorado before moving to Ray County in 1951. He was a member of the Dockery Baptist Church and a committee member of the Ray County ASCS for 20 years.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ray County Salvation Army.

Cremation. There will be private family services at a later date. Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
