RONALD EDWARD WHITESEL
Ronald Edward Whitesel, 76, of Wood Heights, MO died Monday, July 18, 2016 at his home.
Ron was born on March 16, 1940 in Kit Carson, CO to John Samuel and Dortha Mae (Doolittle) Whitesel. He married Kathleen Langner of St. Joseph, MO on October 27, 1962. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include their children; Edward and Sheryl Whitesel of Kearney, MO, John and Candace Whitesel of Port Hueneme, CA, Deborah and Bobby Stafford of Excelsior Springs, MO and Ronald and Melissa Whitesel of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren and their significate others, Ryan Whitesel and Lyndall Harness of Kearney, Brandy Whitesel and Seth Swope of Platte City, MO and Ella Whitesel of Kansas City, MO; bonus grandchildren, Madison Payne, Andrew Payne, Michael Stafford and Curtis Stafford; great-grandson, Seth Swope, Jr; bonus great-grandchildren, Blake Stafford, Isaac Stafford, Landen Stafford and Alex Stafford; one brother, Don Whitesel and his wife, Kathy of Sand Springs, OK; two sisters, Dolores Nester and her husband, Jerome of Conway, AR and Janice Hughes of St. Joseph, MO; bonus children, Loftin family; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by one brother, John Carl Hambrick.
Ron was a 1959 graduate from Lafayette High School in St. Joseph, MO. He was a Untied States Air Force veteran. He retired from Consolidated Freightways after 27 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #41 in Kansas City. Ron had lived most of his life in Wood Heights. He enjoyed golfing where he had 3 holes in one.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ronald Edward Whitesel memorial fund.
A celebration of life for Ronald Edward Whitesel will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the City Hall at 2098 East Ridge Drive, Wood Heights, MO. Online condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
