ROSEMARY A. UHTHOFF

Rosemary A. Uhthoff, 96, of Richmond, MO, died at 8:53 p.m., on Thursday, March 24, 2010, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Mrs. Uhthoff was born December 18, 1913 in New York City, NY to Frank and Roseanna (Leonard) Smith. She married Dunbar Richard Uhthoff of Yonkers, NY on May 19, 1939; he preceded her in death on June 6, 2001.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Marge and Ross Naylor of Richmond; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Audrey Uhthoff of Laurel, DE; six grandchildren, Kim and Shawn Brown of Hamilton, MO, Kenneth and Beth Shrout of Kansas City, MO, Steven, Sandy, Susie and Debra of Annapolis, MD and Sheboygan, WI ; and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Uhthoff lived in Wausau, WI before moving to Richmond in 1993. She graduated with a B.S. in French from Rutgers University formerly "New Jersey College for Women". She worked for New York Life Insurance for 10 years. She was the second person to cross the Brooklyn Bridge. She taught Braille.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shirkey Foundation.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Monday, March 29, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Inurnment will be at a later date. Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
