ROY M. HESSENFLOW

Roy M. Hessenflow, 85, of Henrietta, MO, died at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at his home.
Roy was born on May 18, 1925 near Lawson, MO to Elmer and Leona (Clevenger) Hessenflow. He first married June Kraft on November 11, 1950. To this union, Rick was born. She preceded Roy in death in 1957. He later married Evelyn Abbott Ratliff of Henrietta, MO on January 12, 1961. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include; one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Jeanetta Hessenflow of Hardin, MO, two daughters and two sons-in-law, Janie and John Bakos of Higginsville, MO, Tammy and Dave Hughes of Richmond, MO, one brother and sister-in-law, Alva and Mary Hessenflow of Rayville, MO, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Florence Vance of Henrietta, MO, Mae and Roy Williams of Lexington, MO, five grandchildren and their spouses, Adrienne and Steve McAtee, Travis and Erin Hessenflow, Chad and Jennie Hessenflow, Nick Hughes and Adam Bakos. One great-grandson also survives, Brady McAtee.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Cunningham and Esther Jackson.
Roy was a painter at Lake City Arsenal for thirty-three years before retiring in 1984. He was member of the Henrietta Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran of WW II. He was a lifelong member of the Lexington VFW Post #4052. He had lived in Henrietta, MO most of his life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Henrietta Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Henrietta Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery. A flag presentation will be provided by the Lexington VFW Post #4052. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
