ROY LEE LAMAR

Roy Lee Lamar, 58, of Excelsior Springs, MO died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at his home.

Roy was born on December 3, 1957 in Richmond, MO to Richard and Katherine (Canfield) Lamar. He married Leisa L. Garner of Richmond on February 8, 1980. They later divorced.

Survivors include three sons, Daniel Lamar of the home, Stephen Lamar of Glendale, AZ and Ethan Lamar of the home; four daughters and one son-in-law, Jessica Lamar of Ottawa, KS, Aubrey and Terrance Foster of La Cygne, KS, Morgan Lamar of Independence, MO and Caitlynn Lamar of the home; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Richard Lamar of Las Vegas, NV, John R. Lamar of Sedalia, KS, Donald and Donna Lamar of Richmond, Luke Lamar and Jim and Nancy Lamar of Richmond; one sister, Donna M. Coleman of Richmond; and 5 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Lamar, Jr.; and one ½ brother, George Moorehouse.

Roy was a painter for several years. He was a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He had lived in Richmond most of his life before moving to Excelsior Springs for the last 8 years. Roy loved to cook. He was a loving father and grandfather.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Roy Lamar Memorial Fund.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church north of Richmond. Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be at a later date.
