Ruth Ann Kimbrough, 73, of Lee's Summit, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital East in Lee's Summit.

Ruth was born on November 4, 1952, in Danville, KY, the daughter of Vernon and Joanne (Tebbs) Galloway. She was united in marriage to Marion Dean Taylor of Jefferson City, to this union her two sons were born, they later divorced.

Survivors include: two sons, Stewart (Jamie) Taylor of Richmond and Sean (Kelly) Taylor of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Ronnie (Vicki) Galloway of Dansville, KY; and sister, Laura (Tim) Dickson of Independence.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Ruth was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Jefferson City High School in 1970. A strong influence in her early life was her stepfather, John Dickson, Sr., who played an important role in her upbringing. In 1981, Ruth and her family made their home in the Kansas City area.

Ruth devoted much of her life to caring for her family as a loving housewife and homemaker while raising her two sons. In addition to her work at home, she was employed as a housekeeper for several institutions, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

She had a deep love for animals, especially dogs and cats, and found great joy in feeding birds—particularly hummingbirds. Ruth also enjoyed gardening and took pride in planting and tending to her flowers. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her sons and their families.
