Sam Freel

Sam Rea Freel, 56, of Richmond, MO died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at his home.

Sam was born on October 16, 1958 in West Plains, MO to Samuel Harlin and Mary Bess (Rogers) Freel. He married Melinda D. Butler of Kansas City, MO on August 23, 1998. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Aaron Butler of Kansas City, MO and Rocky and Laura Butler of Kansas City, MO; and one daughter, Caitlin Butler of Roeland Park, KS.

Sam was a 1977 graduate from Richmond High School. He was a warehouse manager for Taber Products in Henrietta, MO for 19 years. He had also worked at Whitaker Cable in Excelsior Springs, MO. Sam was a professional beekeeper. He was a member of the Eastern Jackson County Mainliners Railroad Club. He was of the Christian faith. Sam had lived in Richmond most of his life.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ray County Humane Society.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. the Richmond United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be held at a later date. On line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com .
