Samuel Allen Goodwin

Sam was born on November 21, 2014 and passed peacefully into eternity on September 6, 2015, snuggled in his mother's arms while holding his father's hand and surrounded by his grandparents and friends.

In his short 9 months on this earth, Sam blessed the lives of all those he came into contact with. Those who knew and cared for him describe him as sweet and loving with a bit of an ornery streak. All it took was one look into his big blue eyes with perfect long eyelashes to melt many a heart.

Sam is survived by his Father and Mother, Mark and Robyn (Cook) Goodwin of Richmond, Missouri. His paternal grandparents, Lyndon and Sandra Goodwin of Richmond, Missouri; maternal grandparents Kelley and Susan Cook of Bountiful, Utah; great grandfather Harold Allen Boelsen of Carrollton, Missouri; great grandparents Neil and Beverly Rasmussen of Bountiful, Utah; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to purchase blankets in Sam's name to be given to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children's Mercy Hospital. Donations can also be given to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City.

Sam's parents want to thank the numerous doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, therapists, pharmacists and the many other medical professionals that provided extraordinary care allowing many amazing and cherished moments with him.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Richmond United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Richmond United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
